Osteopathic Manual Practitioners, or OMPs, are healthcare professionals who utilize hands-on, manual techniques to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal and related conditions. They focus on restoring the body's natural ability to heal itself by addressing imbalances and restrictions in the musculoskeletal system and other body systems. OMPs are trained in various manual techniques, including stretching, myofascial release, muscle energy, balanced ligamentous tension, mobilization, positional release and manipulation, to improve tissue mobility, reduce pain, and promote proper function.
Key aspects of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners:
Holistic Approach:
OMPs view the body as an integrated whole, considering the interconnectedness of its structures and systems.
Manual Therapy:
They primarily use hands-on techniques to assess and treat the body, without relying on drugs or surgery.
Focus on Function:
OMPs aim to restore optimal function in the body by addressing underlying imbalances and restrictions.
Specialized Training:
OMPs undergo extensive training, including supervised clinical hours, to develop a refined sense of touch and expertise in manual assessment and treatment.

My goal is to provide you with relief from pain. I have experienced chronic low back pain since 2011, when I started receiving massage therapy. I am also no stranger to mental health conditions which contribute to pain.

I graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2017 at the top of my class. Since then, I’ve furthered my education in pregnancy, lymphatic drainage, oncology, therapeutic/rehabilitative breast/chest massage, 2SLGBTQIA+ healthcare, fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome, mental health, and end-of-life care.

Here at Ripple Effects Massage Therapy, you can receive the following types of treatments by booking with me: traditional Swedish massage, pregnancy massage with a special pregnancy cushion, and lymphatic drainage massage (Vodder Level 1, indicated for intact lymphatic systems, where no lymphatic tissue has been removed/damaged). All treatments are trauma-informed.
